I have to correct you. Steam can natively control a PS4 Dualshock with no extra programs. I've been playing Hades and a multitude of other games on my PS4 dualshock including only non express to Rocket League, FFIX, Everspace, Life is Strange, etc; and never had to install annihilation, but plug in a bluetooth dongle and connect the controller. So you're completely and utterly wrong that its up to developers to create drivers. A dualshock would work just fine with most XBOX gamepass games for PC if Microsoft ALLOWED information technology to work. It only DOESN'T. Keeping in mind that FFXV is on gamepass. A game NATIVE to a PS4 Dualshock and even so I cannot utilise. Then I apologize that you lot're completely ignorant of the fact that Gamepass does it for the wanton of using THEIR controllers and makes information technology obtusely difficult to make something work that should exist plug and play.
This is a pick made past Microsoft to not allow the dualshock. That's information technology.

Microsoft has an open controller APi anyone can use. Sony just doesnt care to.
Activision used to scramble button inputs on guitar hero controllers.

agree have same problem with game pass pc, lack of controller back up. It be nice to simply be able to add together games to steam since steam put in the work to get all controllers working through their app. Why can't Microsoft do something like? the but upped subscription costs, couldn't they go the extra mile for their customers and add together controller back up like steam?

Please forgive me if I'm wrong as I practice non understand much about controller drivers but capeesh those who develop them so I tin play. It seems like at that place really aren't many layers to allow all controllers to play. Microsoft even fabricated this possible with XInput API.

Technically PS3 controller > SCP > XInput > Xbox driver type game. So all the game manufacturer would take to do is back up only Microsoft? I have played games in multiple DRM platforms (Origin - EA Desktop, Steam, Epic, Uplay, etc.) and they all are not perfect but I just don't feel like I take whatsoever control in Xbox.
I've tried to add mods for VR to games and constitute NTFS permissions which took time to circumvent. I thought Doom Eternal had problem because some files may have been corrupted and can't find where I can verify the files. Last, was this same situation merely with input. Microsoftmisnt making a dime on Sony games. Please explain your reasoning and show me the Sony games on the Xbox and Windows stores.

On the other hand, Sony is profiting off of Microsoft games like Minecraft, and now Bethesda quite handsomely.

i just downloaded doom 3 on my laptop from game pass, and i have an xbox 360 controller plugged in, and it doesn't work. im bold its a game by game footing? i havent tried my xbox ane controller still, but its plugged into my gaming rig right at present.

Interesting that Doom 3 is the same. It might have to do with the publisher then. I downloaded Sea of Thieves, Wolfenstein and No Man's Sky. They all worked with my Windows commuter (SCP Toolkit).

No steam is supported BY SONY
do you not understand how it works.? You are talking nearly a completely different field of study ps4 controllers are supported IN Steam Because information technology's the only way to get ps games on pc
Sony provides the libraries needed to access their games steam writes the other drivers based on the libraries for non ps games on steam itself and information technology's a striking and miss with supported features on not supported games.hence why the sony drivers don't support not supported steam games
Espeically on the ps5 controllers
(Known.issue hence why it is even so.in beta)
Since steam has access to the libraries they write the drivers
Ms has generic gamepass drivrers
But as with Logitech and other companies they do write their own drivers
If you want to apply a ps5 or ps4 controller in windows endeavor it see how much back up you get without the sony libraries
